Network Administrator (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Wilsonville, OR (Hybrid)
Annual Salary: $80K to $90K
Overview:
We're seeking a skilled Network Administrator to join a small IT Infrastructure team in a hybrid work environment. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining and supporting LAN/WAN environments across multiple locations, including a cloud data center. You'll be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure across 10 sites and a cloud data center
- Support, configure, and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless systems
- Collaborate with the senior network engineer on network design and planning
- Perform hardware/software upgrades, patching, and firmware updates
- Monitor network security, performance, and health using industry tools
- Manage change control processes for firewall policies, ACLs, and configurations
- Maintain accurate network documentation (e.g., topology diagrams, inventories)
- Support network lifecycle tasks including procurement, licensing, and decommissioning
- Participate in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance
- Travel as needed to install or support network gear at remote offices
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve network issues
- Assist in ongoing IT infrastructure projects and initiatives
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience with routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies
- Experience supporting network gear in multi-site environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of networking best practices
- Familiarity with network security and access control (e.g., Cisco ISE, 802.1X)
- Knowledge of WAN technologies (IPSec, SD-WAN) and QoS principles
- Comfortable with cloud networking (AWS, Azure)
- Proficiency with network monitoring and ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field - or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel domestically/internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Palo Alto experience (PCNSA, PCNSE, or PCCET certifications)
- Cisco IOS, Nexus, and Meraki experience (CCNA/CCNP preferred)
- Experience with Cradlepoint routers and Fortinet (NSE4/5/6/7 certifications)
- Network performance monitoring and optimization experience
